New Motor Vehicle Registrations
Some of you may have already noticed the "new" vehicle registrations we have been issuing since the end of August. They look different, but serve the same purpose.
The new registrations contain bar codes and other security features so police can quickly scan them to verify their information.
Under the new system, every city and town will be connected to the state system. That means the state no longer will have to type in information submitted later by towns. This should eliminate delays, sometimes lasting weeks, from the time the form is submitted locally to the time the state receives and processes it.
